The roller coaster flows of spring are here and this is a great time of year to toss around a few chunks of bunny and see what eats them. The frequently shifting barometer can provide some stellar action for those who stick with it. The fish will be along the banks and don’t worry if you can only see two feet in the murk. There is a good chance you won’t see too many others out there either. Take a few pics and grab a few Morels along the way for dinner.
The first Missoula Youth Fishing Derby was this morning. What an amazing turnout. The Lagoon was packed with giant bobbers and the night crawlers were getting chewed. Here is the Girls winner Kira with the new rod she picked off the prize table after landing a 19″ rainbow. This dad couldn’t be more proud.
I just rolled in from a trip to the coast with a great group of guys. The spearfishing was great, as was the weather. We even busted out the rods a bit to scrape up a few deep water fish. Ling Cod, Rock Fish, and Cabezon, plus a few others now living in cold storage in Missoula. Here is Dean from B.C. with a nice Cabezon.
